To improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of the community.

Leadership and Donors

Building our Community by Giving - the United Way

The problems of our world and even our community are daunting.  They seem to be out of the reach of you or me, or any one person, no matter what powers he or she may possess.  But this is not true.  Waiting for "others" to fix a problem virtually never works.  We have to take that responsibility upon ourselves, doing what is possible within our own sphere of influence.  If we take action to fix those things within our reach, the effect ripples through the community and others will join in.  It is this concept of many providing small increments of help - that a community can address solutions of major problems.  This is the very basis of giving the "United Way".

Community Friendship Circles:

It is the donations of legions of folks who provide sufficient resources for the vital human care programs of non-profit agencies funded through United Way to make a significant difference in our community that improves the quality of life for all of us.  Take the initiative today and make your contribution to United Way to start that ripple of improvement in the quality of life in Merced County.

Community Steward Circles:

The Steward Circles are comprised of leaders who are committed to the long-term well-being of our community.  They demonstrate that commitment by their investment in the health and vitality of our cities, our towns, and our communities.  And the core of this investment is focused on the programs and individuals in our community which will insure personal growth and development of our human resources.

Advocate       $1000 to $2499
Guardian       $2500 to $4999
Visionary       $5000 to $9999

United Way Tocqueville Society:

This Society is designed to deepen the understanding, commitment and support of high wealth individuals to United Way.  Membership in the Society is granted to individuals who contribute at least $10,000 annually to the United Way program.

The United Way of Merced County’s Community Giving Circles are designed to strengthen all sectors of neighborhood well-being, including social, educational, economic, physical and cultural components, while addressing the interrelationships among them.  Community-building places priority on a resident-driven approach that values local knowledge and participation in all stages of the revitalization effort.  These programs are built around the concept of providing a "hand up" not a "hand out".

Please consider giving generously...today.
