committed citizens can change the world...
indeed it's the only thing that ever has!"

Playhouse Merced

Playhouse Merced exists to entertain, educate and enlighten our audiences, celebrating the area's diversity through our chosen artistic medium, live theatre.

Founded in 1994 as the Merced Center for the Performing Arts, Playhouse Merced has grown over the past years into the area's premier theatre origination, presenting a main stage season of at least a dozen shows annually in its two performance spaces. Additionally, the youth Conservatory offers after-school instruction in theatre, voice, and dance; provides educational opportunities through outreach to outlying communities; and presents two acclaimed theatre summer camps for youth.
