Merced Area Crime Stoppers

The Merced Area Crime Stopper organization was formed as a non-profit agency that allows persons to remain anonymous when reporting suspects wanted in crimes. When the “tip” leads to an arrest a reward is made available through a code system that precludes identifying the reporting party. Similar programs in other locations have shown it effective in reducing crime.
