indeed it's the only thing that ever has!"

Lifeline Community Development Corporation

“Everyone no matter how rich has a need. Everyone now matter how poor has a gift.
That is why we build and celebrate community.”

LifeLine CDC sees every person as gifted and able to bless others. LifeLine envisions communities where people who have benefited from the gifts of others find ways to give back out of their own unique skills and resources. Together we discover the assets in a neighborhood and community (asset mapping), mobilize those resources for use (community development), and promote Community in our neighborhoods and Neighborliness in our communities (community events.) We facilitate people getting the resources they need (advocacy) empower people to develop their own skills (training) and enlist a small army of volunteers to make it happen.

We work in specific neighborhoods to empower community members.

One of the programs is a Reentry Assistance Partnership. LifeLine has partnered with various agencies, community organizations, employers and faith-based and grassroots groups to reduce recidivism among ex-offenders. Their effort is to mobilize the community to provide resources to ex-offenders and their families as they reenter society. They maintain a thorough list of services offered within our area to ex-offenders and their families and assist the ex-offenders in reaching their goal to constructively reenter Merced County society.

Another program is the Bus Boutique that provides clothes to those in need by going into their neighborhood. Recipients are asked to “buy” the clothes with an exchange of outgrown clothes, volunteer labor, etc. LifeLine believes this exchange is vital to essentials of dignity.
