Girl Scouts, Heart of Central California

The Girl Scouts, Heart of Central California have a commitment to 'serve every girl, everywhere: In order to better facilitate this commitment, the Muir Trail Council established the outreach Troops program which receives funding from United Way of Merced County.

The 'Outreach Troops' program is designed to do just that, reach out to young women that may not otherwise have the resources that would allow them to share in the scouting experience. The program assists girls from culturally diverse or financially disadvantaged populations, or sometimes distressed family situations, to be able to participate in Girl Scouts. The goal of Girl Scouting programs is to prepare young women for the challenges that lie ahead of them.

The troops are encouraged to work on fun activities, earn merit badges and participate in group interest projects in weekly meetings. For more information about the Muir Trail Council and the Outreach Troops program, call 522-9001.
