Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fresno, makes available a satellite office in the city of Merced that provides direct service to people in need. Most of the people that utilize their services are low-income or homeless. Catholic Charities goal is to work with individuals, families and communities to empower people to meet their needs, address their issues, eliminate oppression, and build a just, informed and compassionate society.

Catholic Charities receives partial funding for their Emergency Social Services program from United Way of Merced County. The goal of this program is to create pathways to self-sufficiency which can only be done if daily survival needs are met.
