Castle
Challenger Learning Center Foundation
The
Castle Challenger Learning Center Foundation is a non-profit
organization that exposes young minds to the fundamentals
of science, technology and engineering in an entertaining
manner. The Castle Challenger Learning Center currently
receives part of its funding from the United Way of Merced
County. That funding is earmarked for a computer, headsets
and equipment need to continue running space missions
for school age children (K-12).
The
staff at the learning center have specialized knowledge
of science and math fields and incorporate the thrill
and adventure of space flight with the down to Earth necessity
to master the fundamentals of mathematics and science.
Their mission is to extend the boundaries of human knowledge,
to teach, and to inspire. Along the way, three important
skills are developed: teamwork, problem solving, and communication.
Additionally,
the Foundation operates the Castle Science and Technology
Center where interesting and provocative displays are
located. They have a several programs for school age children
to promote their interest in science and technology.
